Default Sway bars

I have completed the install of my coilovers and got the new rims/rubber on the 240.

Went with the D2 7/5 coils.

Looking to do sways next. I want a set that are medium/firm stiff, not bone jarring stiff.

Car will eventually see moderate track use, so I want to eliminate most (but not all) of the body roll.

Searched at FA and found info on Cusco, Tanabe, Whiteline and Susp. Techniques.

Looks like Cusco and Tanabe will be to stiff (going by bar diameter) and the Whiteline's and Susp Techniques are almost identical in diameter.

Any advice/recommendations or experience would be appreciated.

Susp. Tech will meet your needs and save you cash for other suspension mods.

Check out www.Zilvia.net group buy section for some decent priced suspension.

PS - I remember installing my Apexi STB and being shocked at the improvement, even under 10-15mph turns on the sreet. Go for STB and RSTB!

I have the Tanabe bars and love them. They weren't as stiff as I expected. I definitely would not want to go with anything softer.

I think freshalloy had a massive post on how lowering the car does not help as much as everyone thinks, they did it in percents or something, showing that only slight gains are had with a lower car, and stiffer spring rates, and adjusting rebound is where the handling can be had. But I cant find the
article right now.

John, I just made that argument after the auto-x last Sunday. Matt reintroduced me to the basics. There are diminishing returns and a point of adverse implications. Chin, get that info!

I have already been through this with the Lexus in my sig.

For it, sways were MUCH MUCH better than lowering.

I actually went TO stiff on the Lex (it has Tein Flex coils and is dropped, but not slammed) with a set of Hotchkis sways (before the coils).

Once I put the coils on, no matter what setting the I used on the EDFC, the car was not comfortable.

Sure, it's fun sliding it around (Read, NOT drifting) corners and such, but I finally found out that a little body roll IS GOOD for traction.

Stiff is great if you wanna slide everywhere or you like the inside wheel hopping on a 180 turn.

I sold the Hotchkis and got Eibachs, which are medium stiff for the IS. The difference was day and night. The car corners and handles better, rides smoother, and doesn't oversteer like it did.
