I installed my shift light yesterday and it seems to not be working . i was told to tap into the yellow w/red stripe wire for my RPM signal is this correct. Aparently I am getting power casue when i turn the car on it will light up real quick. let me know if i am tapped in the right source.

Yellow with red is the rpm signal on an S13

 

right, but autometer products dont recognize nissan rpm signals i belive. you may need a tach adapter
