i drove a Frontier pickup with the supercharged VG in it. OMG it was so cool, it was pretty quick and sounded like a 03 cobra. man, why dosn't anyone use this motor in a z31 swap or something cool, the toyota designation for a s/c'ed engine is Z. like 4agze, or 1ggze. what the hell do you call this? is the bottem end built for boost like the old vg30et's? man, i might have to do something cool with one of those motors. like a 80's 200sx with one ,hell they had vg's in some of them, just adapt the s13 rear suspension in. i like s12's, i'd do one of the old turbo's with the ca18et and do a ca18det, or build a ca20det.

but in any case it would be cool as hell to hear a z31 that sounded like a 03 cobra.

 

Its called a vg33eR, its a single over head cam 3.3 liter, its stroked from the original 3 liter. I was thinking about turning my VG33e into a R but i haven't been able to pinpoint what exact parts i'll need, as for the internals, i'd have to say they're the same...but i dunno, im gonna call Nissan and see if the part numbers match up for pistons and see what kinda fuel system its running. It only adds like 20 Whp, but that is with a huge ass pulley, they have a smaller pulley that boosts it like 15psi, and it screams...i've seen frontier 2 doors with that small pulley kit get into the 13's...pretty cool if you ask me. i was also wondering about the VG30e Tranny...it should mount up right? i mean its just stroked, i believe it uses the same block.

 

It's not stroked, it's bored. stock is 87x 83. VG33 is 92x83
