Strange noise from sohc ka
It kinda sounds like a knocking rod but, its lighter sounding than a rod. My friend seems to think that it may be an exhaust leak from the EGR. The engine bogs down at 5k RPMS, and doesn't want to go past that. Started as a very light noise that seemed to be the timing chain, and the more I have driven it, the louder it gets. No signifigant power loss in the engine until it hits 5k. Timing chain, and guides we're replaced before I bought the car.
To me it sounds like a valve hitting the piston or something. But I have NO clue what it is, I don't want it to be a rod, and its not sounding like a typical rod knock, But this is my first nissan, and I have no clue how to do anything to these.

Well upon further inspection of the oil, we found out there wasn't any left so I think its safe to say he spun a bearing

I added oil, and the noise went away. Now there is just a tick sound like valves that need an adjustment. Also, It goes over 5k RPMs after oil was added. Guess my rod is okie dokie after all. Anyone know what could have been casuing a LOUD knocking noise, that goes away after oil is added? Low oil sensor or something?
