Still burning oil, wasn't turbo. DOH!
I just replaced my worn turbo with another newer, less mileage, one that has no shaft play or anything. I thought my old worn turbo was the cause of my car burning oil, but low and behold, it isn't. The intake pipes still have oil residue on the inside of them from the old turbo and thought that the engine was still sucking some of it in and burning it off but it happens while idleing too so I am ruling that out. COuld it be the headgasket, although NO water appears in the oil and the exhaust does not smell like coolant. I don't f'in know fellas...something aint right.
Buck19, break out the service bulletin and let me know.

typicaly burning oil is either rings or valve seals. if you get alot of smoke on throttle release, usually indicates valve seals. at least that`s what the ASE study guide says....

the only way that blowby is going to be getting into his chargepipes though is if they have a channel (i.e. hose from breather to turbo inlet) if theres oil in the pipes, its usually the turbo.

im gonna rule the puddle of oil in the exhaust out because I just had a brand new exhaust built from the turbo, replacing the cat, to my HKS system, unless its puddled in the HKS system. There was oil in the pipes which is why I made the conclusion the turbo was bad. IT still smokes, idling, under acceleration especially. Ill bring it out wednesday to the meet and show you Taylor if you'll be there.
