alright heres the problem. I cant afford to do a sr swap in my s14 so I figured i would just put a header, full exhaust, intake, and a 55 shot and ride out. but I know thats not going to be enough. so my question is what else can i do to get some power out of the ka without spending a fortune?(VERY LIMITED BUDGET!!!!!!) any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

ok, here goes, this setup made 157rwhp and 160TQ on my 95 s14 KA. full header and exhaust, all emissions deleted, short ram intake, z32 maf, 370cc injectors and a rom tune. you might make more or less. ever car is different. this was good enough to get me a 14.9 at the track. plus the 50shot and your close to 200hp and deep into the 14's if not faster.

thanx man. is xat the only place that does the rom tune? and is the injectors the only reason you needed you car tuned?

either XAT or Enthalpy could do your rom tune. Enthalpy did mine so he's the one i'd go to. i needed the tune cause of the bigger injectors and bigger MAF. ohh and i forgot cams, KA's love cams!! but the only ECU's that can be rom tuned are s13 ecu's i think.

alright thanx for the info. Anyone know where i can get a sr for cheap, maybe thats just easiest way in the end

well so far the cheapest sr swap I've been able to find is like $4000 and thats for the s13 sr20. if i did one i would like to get the s14 sr20 but unless i find soewhere with a payment program it doesnt look like the swap will be happening anytime soon!!!

If you are on a tight budget I would start with the basics.
Intake and exhaust.
You can even have a 3” exhaust made up at a local muffler shop. This can save you some money and if you go with a basic muffler could safe you a future exhaust ticket. I would start with upgrades that could be used in either a future SR or KA-Turbo application.

yea i talked to xat racing and they said they would do a full 3" exhaust w/ muffler for $250 so thats sounds like a pretty good deal to me

if your on a tight budget, sell the car, get a bike and save up to the point when you arent on a budget
