Default is my headgasket blown?

my car overheated a couple of times, I finally fixed the hose and fill it up with water. I drive it and 10 minutes the water in the reservoir is boiling and white smoke is everywhere. The head gasket is probably done. SHould i replace it myself, pay some one, or fuck the blown headgasket on the sohc, and buy another sohc. its a 1989 nissan 240sx stock sohc

Pending on how much you can get everything for perhaps go for a dohc? if not replace it yourself, helps with experience imo

I would most definatley go with a dohc swap as the once cam is known for blowing head gaskets. Depending on how much coolant made its way into the motor it might already be done for. You might want to pull off your exhaust and make sure it is not full of water. Do the dual cam swap. Should run around 500 to put one in.

i can do a head gasket for a SOHC in 3 hours, i love that motor. If your reservoir is boiling...the headgasket is bad...there should never be air in the cooling system. thats why you don't drive with F*ed up hoses on this engine.

Swap it....for real. Take advantage of the situation.
