Mr halo..nice to meet you last weekend....next time, more time to hang please..yeah base shop rules, courtesy of that maxtype character.....but ya...this is no mystery scooby doo. just a matter of parting with bucks. if you are ultra poor, or cheap, best bet is napa,. really poor, big stick method.

sure jerry. please, no mr. im far from that.. but it was great to see you again, i love your s14a. i guess most ppl that have met me down there a few times where not use to me having purple and red hair.

as for the big stick method, i've never seen or heard of that.

some friend used a 15 dollar torch from walmart and a hammer and some stuff in the garage to make a drift and heated it up and beat the old ones out. and used a buddys vise to press in the new ones.. they also did the subframe the same way.

but i'll tell you now, start saving up for the pillow ball mounts ones. i think we had 2 maybe 3 more guys that looked in to there tension rod mounts last week and found stress cracks form the poly u bushing.

Jerry, you have met Ric several times before. He's been coming down to Tampa since long before Rinku was carrying diapers around in his old truck.

As far as the tension rods, I have to agree with Ric pillow ball mounts ones are the way.

the pillow ball *joint* while stiffer, does allow for rotating movement in the joint with out constant stress on it and on the other pieces it's bolted to. the polyu are under constance stress.

this cracking isn't something that has or will happen over night. this is happening on cars that have had them on for 2+ years.

also these cars (z32) are 500-700lbs more than the typical s13/14, so it might/or might not take longer for the cracking to take place on the s-bodys. but it will sometime.

none of the Z32 ppl i know of, or heard of has used the whiteline bushing, they may have a better flex to them, but the ES bushing are the ones causeing this stress cracking.
