SR powered S14 need some help...PLEASE!!!!!
This is a continuation of My SR Headache Thread...
I have put 823 miles on the car since I got it back from Taylors shop. The car has been doing ok for daily driving , But here are my problems
1. Car makes not power
2. Breaks up badly at 4K rpms ( havent tried pushing it)
3. Horrible Gas mileage ( and I can smell gas sometimes )
4. Stalls when I come to a complete stop about 1 in 5 times
I took my 1995 240sx with S14 SR20 to Taylor not running and had him install the following
1. 480cc injectors
2. SAFC
3. Z32 MAF
Taylor said it will need a Dyno Tune ( which im sure will fix must of these problems) and told me last week to get Thurs off to go to the DYNO by his shop...He has not called yet and its Wednesday....
PLEASE if someone has a way to get ahold of Taylor (I have called,PM'd, and E-mailed) I just need to know a time.....AND if anyone has any ideas as to why my car runs crappy now ( and it did not before ) please let me know. Taylor is one of the best out there and I want him , BUT , if there is someone as good at tuning please let me know~! Thanks in advance

You're not getting a custom fuel/timing map done, you're simply having your car leaned out. A drunken monkey with an A/F reading can do that.
I don't know what the problem is Chad. Before, you had the 480cc injectors. Same issues, no? Now you have the 480cc injectors again, with maf and s-afc. For some reason you got back an untuned car, which is dumping 1.5x more fuel than necessary into the car, which explains A, B, C, and D. Think about it. You're already running rich with the injectors, and now have the sudden-rich syndrome from open atmosphere BOV, and you'll stall. You didn't before because the motor can handle so much fuel.. but with these two issues, it can't.
So unless you only paid for the installs (2 hours wiring, 1 hour installing.. maximum shop times), then you got had. You know people who have enough knowledge to get through this problem... why you outsourced is beyond me.

I went to Taylor because Im very unfimiliar with the SAFC and he from what people have said is the best...I have hear bad stories about SAFC and people tuning them wrong..Didnt wanna be one of those...Im running a HKS SS BOV, so people know.
He installed the 480cc injectors and he said when he installed the MAF it leaned it out because of the extra Airflow...Maybe it was not enough, I have readup on these issues and Just thought it better to have Taylor deal with it ( mainly because I was frustrated with the Idle problem from before which he fixed by bypassing the AAC and opening the Throttle plate...)Wiring is by far not my thing...Dave does not have time to help with his school , Trenton , has 2 jobs now and no time.. TJ messed his car all up with his SAFC...I dont know anyone else that has dealt with the SAFC..figured Taylor would be the guy to go too

What are your settings with the S-AFC? If worse comes to worse, take it down to XAT. $125 for a SAFC tune.
The put in on a dyno...and tune it. Martin seems to be a pretty good tuner...probably one of the better ones in this area.

DID I MENTION HE TUNED MY S-AFC II ?
PLEASE DON'T TARNISH TAYLOR'S WELL DESERVED GREAT REPUTATION .. !!! he is only one person and he's been busy . i think thats great for TAYLOR & J !!! i'm sure there's a good reason.

Wow. I'm not bashing Taylor in any way. I'm also refusing to swing off his nuts like all you, too.
