Default Hawk brake pads

Everything is on the way for my 323mm brake upgrade. Now I just have to figure out what pads to use (Z32 calipers). Does anyone have experience with either of these pads?
How long does it take the HP Plus pads to warm up and how dusty are they, or are they over kill for the street?

HPS (High Performance Street) provides 20-40% more brake torque than OEM pads, and are very low dusting, quiet and gentle on rotors

HP Plus is Hawk's street/track compound, noisy (squeals at low temperatures slow stops) and dusty for street use.

I don't like them. I have the HP+, and they have low initial bite, even warmed up. They're dusty as hell, and last way too long. I really want them to dissapear so I can go back to my EBC Greens, with great cold bite, awesome warmed up bite, no fade, and no dust. But they have a longetivity issue.. about 15k with me driving. But I'd rather replace EBCs even every 8k then run these Hawks again.

I'm running the Axxis Pads with Cross drilled/Slotted Brembo's on the front/rear with my Z32 upgrade and so far they worth pretty well. Brake dust hasnt be an issue and I removed the front two dust plates. I've only had them on for about 2 months maybe and havent checked for wear as of yet but they seem to be holding up pretty well.

EBC green or EBC red if you are serious about getting good pads.

sure, you'll replace them after every event. but thats what race teams do anyway!

How are the EBC Reds? Are they noisy, dusty, and how to they grip while the are warming up?

I'm pretty good about using race pads on the street... but I shy away from Reds for 100% daily driving. Not worth it in my opinion. If you do events, the extended warmup would be a tradeoff that's worth it.. but for driving around town, the Greens have more than enough temperature headroom for anything you do. And they have more bite, too. The reds just have additional fade resistance for extended race use IMO.

AutoZone $20 pads! I mean, you've already got brakes designed for a 3500 pound car on a much lighter one (mine weighs ~2700). That should give you awesome stopping power anyways. Now you're on a 323mm rotor with increased brake torque. Think of how 'streetable' your stock pads were. If you don't like them, hey, they only cost $20!

Look, just use whats best for your purpose. Higher grade pads - more performance (mostly autox, dori). Mid-grade pads - dual purpose (daily ddriver/traffic - weekend toy). Average pads - daily driver, some playing - but will go thru them fasssst.

Let the purpose determine the quality of parts.

I drive my car really hard, but I also have to deal with an hour and a half of rush hour traffic every day. I want to me able to slow down coming into corners hard and from triple digits speeds, but I also don’t want to step on the brakes in rush hour and find out my brakes aren’t stopping me fast enough because they are to cold. It sound like my best bet is either EBC greens or Hawk HPS pads and just plan on changing them on a regular basis.

I run EBC Greens on my MR2 .

Great initial Bite and even after multiple 115mph-40 stops they had no fade ..
