Default So who has what coolers?

I was sitting here pondering what sort of coolers would be most effective for the SR20. I was thinking mostly an oil cooler seems popular on race driven cars (road course, and drift) and maybe a power steering cooler, due to the wheel turning so much. Plus there is room next to the wheel wells (where the stock sidemount would go) So what other coolers do you think would help keep engines alive longer, stronger?

Oil cooler would be most beneficial in my opinion.

Transmission cooler? I don't think transmission see's extreme temperatures like engine oil would on regular basis though.

You already mentioned PS.

you can get crazy with all of them if you wanted to:
-oil cooler
-tranny cooler
-ps cooler
-diff cooler (s15 style)

but i think you'd only need an oil cooler, even on a hot track day in florida. maybe a power steering cooler if you were going to do non-stop auto-x or drifting runs without any breaks, but i havnt heard of anyone's stuff going bad yet because of that.

350z's have power steering coolers IIRC, there was a discussion on freshalloy about retrofitting into an S chassis' PS system. i'd bypass that loop on the DOHC PS lines that goes over to the passenger frame rail and back, and throw the cooler inline with that.

for an oil cooler, there are sandwich adapter for $40 from greddy and such for KA's and SR's, some companies even have total blockoff plates for the whole oil filter housing on SR's with a pressure sensor hole still and dual -8 or -10AN outlets...pimp.

I was reading about the oil cooler adapter and it said this at the bottom
" NOTE: Use of 1985-87 Toyota Corolla GTS Oil filter required."
Is that true??
Plus every where i looked they were like $$60 and up

I was reading a debate on FA about oil coolers. Basically a guy with an oil temp sensor and a Greddy pan said that his temps never get too high, even when he takes it to a track (road course). I think if oil coolers were really that necessary, you'd see better/cheaper setups out of Japan. Although you could get a stock Z32 turbo oil cooler....
