Default ehhhhhhhhh!!!!!! freaking tail lights!!1

ok my left side taillight if your looking at it from the back my tail lights look fine at night when my headlights are on but when i hit the brakes both my lights on the right side get bright but my left one bulb stays the same and the other goes out i have pics here...

this is when the lights are turned on at night(all bulbs are lit)

here it is when i hit the brakes with my headlights on(left bulb stays the same and does not get brighter but the right one goes out)

this is when i hit the brakes in the daytime with no headlights on(right bulb lights up but does not get bright as the other ones and the left bulb dosent even light up)

i have an idea of what i could do... could i just cut the signal wires on the left side and splice them in with the right sides singnal wires and they would run the same?

my z31 did something screwy like this when i got it. turns out turning the light bulbs on the affected side 180 degrees in their sockets fixed it.

who knew...

My S13 does similar.

I swapped bulbs etc already.

My driver side rear will have one filament on if i have lights on and its fine. When i brake, second filament should go on as well and it does but my first one goes off. I let brake pedal go, it's fine again. Passenger side is totally fine.

I looked at the contacts and changing the 180 degree deal to no avail.

My contacts were clean and not loose.

So next is a continuity test on wires (harness to trace down a problem, probably a short somewhere)
