Default problems with my ka24e.

after doing a head gasket, and head job, it seems like its taking forever for the lifters to pump up.
i let it run for a while, and drove it pretty easy for about 15 minutes, but its still ticking from the top end, any suggestions?
or should i look into replacing the lifters/rocker arm assemblies?

also, when i give it a small amount of throttle, it shudders, like its missing, and then is alright.. i tried adjusting the tps, and it helped a little, but its still not running right.
and, it runs better with the coolant temp sensor disconnected.
it pulls fine from idle to about 2500 rpm, but from 2500-3300, it acts like it wants to die, like its starving for fueil

any help is greatly appreciated.

tap and power failure can be caused by severe carbon build up in the combustion chamber, did you clean the pistons and combustion chamber when you replaced the headgasket?
if you get a stethescope you can probably narrow it down to one or a few specific rockers (if thats what it is), i have heard of them losing thier response tension but they're "supposed" to last forever.

theres no carbon buildup, i did the valves and everything myself.
and cleaned the carbon off the pistons. they look like dinner plates them shits so clean. hahaha

i checked the lifters, and a few of them were stuck, so i used pb blaster, and got them springy again.
hmm.
im more concerned about the rough running, but after talking to a relaible source,im thinking the distributor is off a tooth maybe.

springy = bad for hydraulic lifters

they need to be completely solid...

well, they were stuck in different positions before.
some way in the rocker arm, some sticking out half way.
id imagine they become more solid when they fill with oil, and pump up.

its been running for a while now and seems to be getting quiter little by little.
still concerned about the rough running though.
