no, but you either do that or drop the tranny. if you have small hands you might be able to ge to the det sensor. or you can just get another one, and mount it on the plinum or use a resister to by pass it. but i wouldn;t do that on a TT. only a NA due to the fact of its a TT, and Detanation is more critcal on them.
EGR, well you can loosen them up but will have to cut the bolts to get them fully off and out.

yeah, it's basicly is a resistor that is grounded to the block. if the voltage changes to much, it trips. i *SHOULD * be on the block. but if you have a safe tune and the car is in good care, there is little worrie of det, you can mount one where ever. normally it's put on the rear area of the plinum, some just put in a resistor to chassie ground and by passes it. it's not the safest, but it keeps u out of safty boost.

You won't like my reply BUT here it is.
1. Change your wiring harness - $ 325 - best monry you will spend any Z with 50 k miles and 6 + years of age needs this done - take my word for it - its the BEST thing you can do for your car.
2. DO NOT relocate your detonation sensor. Its location is very imprortant to ensure safety of your motor - i have seen several HACK jobs with resistors and relocations that resulted in blown motors.
If you want to own this car - be prepared to maintain the car - if you can afford the maintenance - buy a civic or a corolla. Sorry but thats the honest truth.
If you don't want to do this yourself get a good mechanic
