my z31 does grrrrrreat with regular upgrades but that other stuff sounds fun too.
Also if you search z31.com there is a guy with a write up on how to do custom coilovers for front and rear z31.
i think it uses 240sx coilovers to start.

Tom Berg and Brian 85T wrote the writeup on the ground control coilover install.

Chances are I've forgotten more about the Z31 than you guys have learned.

S13 multilink is the only way I'd do a Z these days..

Listen, I was a part of Z31.com for a LONG LONG time. But while the board was great in 1998, its falling behind in technology. It needs a modern board layout and a better search function. The archives should be better organized rather than just a number.

The people are fine and know what they are talking about and I dont dispute that at all, but the board as a physical thing is just behind the times.

Also... I dont want "ground control" coilovers.. I'd want to get a set of tiens or something onthe car if I was going to do something like this..

it will still be a POS z31, just go buy a mk3. the only thing bad anyone can say about it is that its heavy...soooo what. it has one less head that has 4 vlaves and was desighned by yamaha. and if you get a hardtop it will be the same weight as a z31.

listen , why can't you use the early 280z rear suspension? it wasn't semi triling arm. i think i talked to matt about that before.

280Z's were strut front, strut rear.. it was better than Z31 and S130 suspension, but it couldn't handle the weight of a Z31. S13 multilink really is the best suspension nissan's made

See bill, the problem with a hardtop MK3 is that it dosent have T-tops lol... Both cars are pigs, but the Z31 is just 400 lbs less of a pig before u start pulling stuff outta both cars.

But If I could get S13 suspension in a Z31 w/o depleating a fortune then I'd have the car who's looks ive been in love with for a long time.

EDIT: I just remembered Ken in Az also did this.
Ken in AZ used z32 rear susp if it matters

and dont forget that w/ the z32 placement of the rear wheel was moved forward a couple inches

not sure if he ever got around to modifying the mounts to fix the problem.
