The point alot of you guys are missing is that JWT uses a conservative map so customers dont fuck up their engines.
When they ship out a customers ecu back they really dont know what the person does to the car.i.e. octane, timing, boost.
If they would make a more agressive map, customers might fuck up their engines and blame the JWT ECU.
I dont like JWT either but you have to see it from a business point of view.
and BEN is a monkey idiot !

I find that hard to believe.. since they DO have different programs for different cams that they sell. IE: S3 and S4 programs.. C1 and C2 programs. Granted, these are taillored to thier cams.. but an S4 program would be close for an HKS 264 cam selection.. A C1 or C2 program would be good for a HKS 272 cam setup. Did you tell them you had cams?

Thank you.. That's all I was trying to say. People here discounting JWT's tuning ability is what gets to me. If any of you guys actualy met them, and saw them work, you would change your story. I know a LOT of big wig tuners out there.. and these guys are up there at the top as far as I'm concerned.

From a business stand-point.. they are playing it safe. If you don't like it.. then don't buy thier products. However, take a look at the amount of ECU's that they sell.. they must be doing something right..

And yes.. Ben is a idiot. You should see him in person.. he sounds just like he looks.

the reason they sell so many is that they were the only one for a long time and there was no one else.. and their tunes are just not that good... i will show you something...
here is a tune from jwt and a example of my tune... in general i use scott's method so his maps would be structured sort of like this..
notice something very disturbing about jwt ??.. no knock maps !! .. WTF ?? .. besides that... you be the judge...

Ok... what's so wrong with JWT's maps? The reason they turn the knock sensor off, is because a lot of times, it will pick up inadvertant noises and interpret them for knock. The 95 and up sensors are even worse than the older obd1 sensors. I've never lost an engine with a JWT ECU in it. All you've proven is what everyone has already said.. JWT is very conservative.

theres a difference between conservative and below 10:1 rich. i did a FWD SR swap for a kid and used the JWT computer and i had to take out 18% fuel on his SAFC just so it would idle bc of how rich it ran. ive been turned off by JWT, esp when we have something so much better locally. im sure if i lived in the same county as JWT, tuning would be a different story, but my money woudl rather go to scott, than across the country.

what the hell are you talking about .. do you even know how a knock sensor works ? OBD1 knock sensor ?? WTF ?

"inadvertant noises" NO you are wrong..
and btw .. these are vg maps not sr... what I show here is that JWT has a very lumpy and unrefined curve... very few people understand fully how a mafs sytem works and how it should be tuned correctly.
in fact you bring me a car and tell me the mods and I can give you a better off the shelf tune than they can.. we have a dyno to prove it.
