I'd definatly go with the resonators if your planing on running test pipes. I'm personaly going to go with J-spec DP's (just because I already have them), Cat pipes and X pipe with no resonators, just because I like the way it sounds. Not the best performance but that what the electonic cut outs are for
There are a few sound clips on TT.net if you want to hear it but you loose most of the low end noise in the recording. It's not the most accurrate sound but it will give you an idea.

I think i really wanna go with Specialty Z Sebring Exhaust system. I talked to the owner and stated its the best flowing sysytem for a TT with x-pipes and you can expect to gain 30 HP from it. He said the sound is also on the louder side and that aluminized piping would be fine. I think i might do the piping coming directly off the muffler stainless steel just to give it that shiny touch when you see the piping from the back. Gonna save my money for one of those systems i believe, right now im gonna buy that JWT Pop Charger from them for 100$

Sounds like my plan. Polished sebrings, stainless mufler sections, and aluminized X pipe. Are you comming out for the Z cruse on the 9th? Adrian might have his exhaust in by then and you could take a look at it.

Didn't know anything about a Z meet. Just looked at it on the thread and you I would like to go. Whats this about your turbos being on the floor?

I just haven't put them on yet, still need a few more parts. Slicktops never came turboed so I'm forced to make the conversion myself. I always wanted a slicktop but I gave up on locating one shortly after the search began and then started shoping TT's. After a few months of looking at all kinds of junk I stumbled onto this little gem. I was sold the second I saw it, but in this state it lacks any where near the performance of its TT siblings. While the body is lighter by several hundred lbs, it just can't make up for not having turbos. My only option is to put some turbos into my slicktop chasis. Should be a fun little project once it gets into the build stage. Right now I"m still collecting parts. I want everything ready when I pull the motor. The second it comes back from the machine shop everything is going right back togeter and stuffed back into the car.

Collected so far/piled on my floor:
2 stock turbos
2 stock intercoolers
Complete intake tract
2 turbo manifolds
2 precats (for sale I don't need them)
2 j-spec down pipes
TT radiator
TT overflow bottle(junking for aftermarket unit)
TT fan and fan clutch
TT fan shoud
Total cost so far $550

Needed:
A/C condensor and lines
Injectors (haven't decidedwhat size yet)
Oil filter bracket
Oil pan
TT exhaust valves (or complete heads what ever is cheaper)
Head rebuild gasket kit
Engine rebuild gasket kit
Turbo oil/coolent feed/drain line kit
New turbo center sections if i decide to keep them
Weisco ceramic coated pistons with 8.5:1 comp
bearings and other rebuild goodies

I'm probaly forgetting some things.. oh well
My goal is to go from a Stage 1 NA - Stage 3+ TT in a single swap.

Sounds like a project man. Just curious, why are the slicktop Z's so light compared to the regular TT. TT tops dont way several hundred pounds so im just wondering what makes them lighter?

Since they don’t have the T's they don’t need any extra reinforcement in the body. The hardtop keeps everything in spec with minimal body flex. They also skimp a few things found on most Z's, only manual tranny, no Bose, no power seats, no HICAS. While this saves a little weight its nothing a base model NA couldn't do. The big savings comes in the body. The slicktops where sold as the Econo 300ZX, but were not very popular. I think Nissan only made enough of them to use the body for racing, but I don’t have any facts to confirm that. It's just a theory of mine.

yeah the lebrees pipes are nice, i had NA test pipes on my old black NA, along with a brullen turbo exhaust that i still have in my garage in the corner with stillen headers. Rob thought it sounded very "exotic" . it was quite LOUD. but i liked it. just needs to have the rear hangers shortened
