The results? I need more boost!
The highest numbers I saw last night was 220hp and 240ft.lbs. After an hour of straight giving the car hell it was consistently putting down 210hp and around 230ft.lbs. Not bad for a junkyard setup that I have $1000.00 invested in. While their we did some tests to see how much pressure I was loosing between the comressor housing and throttle body. To my surprise only 1psi. :o I have a major exhaust leak in my downpipe and Sam informed me that I should be able to reach another 5hp when I fix it because where the exhaust leak was at it was causing the exhaust wheel to cavitate, sort of like a boat propeller when it sucks in air. Oh, as far as A/F ratio, we were aiming for 11.5:1 across the board and got pretty damn close.

Next mods are to fix my exhaust leaks, and put a MBC on it to keep the wastegate from prematurely opening. When I drive I can hear it start to crack open at only 3 of 4 psi of boost and its got an 8 lb spring in it. I think an MBC will retain the signal to wastegate long enough to let it spool to at least 6psi im hoping before it begins to open.

Anyways, that's the story, now I can beat her to hell.

BTW: I highly recommend going to Coastal Dyno, very cool people and I saw some of their work in the shop, very nice, high quality stuff! I was envious when I walked in the shop and saw Sam's exhaust laying on the floor, mind you it;s 4" i believe and looks like a work of art.

Good stuff man, congrats! Do you have an auto? Intercooler? Anyways, I have the same type of exhaust leak, plus my WG seal is busted too. They drive nuts but I'll fix that Saturday.

Can't wait to see the setup!

I have the 5sp and a johnnyracecar.com intercooler. It was pretty funny 'cause I have my wastegate just open dumping into the engine bay and they were running up to 6100rpm's. You couldn't think in their it was so rediculously loud.

I was just checking your setup at cardomain, very nice, and nice numbers. Are you still running with stock internals? If so how many miles have you put on them? What are you using for a MAF sensor? Wanna trade setups? Alright, n/m on the last question I think I know the answer. You gonna be at DDAY3? I wanna see your car, it looks so pretty all polished. Your wastegate seal as in the gasket between the manifold and the wastegate? Mine broke too so I just took it out and mounted w/o a gasket. The metal surfaces are are pretty damn flat so it seals good enough.

congrats man! 11.5 is safe for a KA-T that will be seeing serious duties. with correc timing control you can get it to 11.8-12.2 depending on the boost levels youre running.

The echo in the shop makes things worse but I'd never run that way (unless it was a dedicated road coarse car).

Stock internals w/ 148,000 miles. I'm going to find an engine soon and send it to cryo treatment. Better be prepared when this one goes...

Sorry, road coarses, auto-x, and monthly Nissan meets only

I know for a fact it doesn't seal well b/c the ceramic coat is covered in exhaust residue. Have you actually tested for leaks? You're loosing pressure there if so... I'm about to switch my 4.35lb spring for a 10lb, so I'll install a gasket while I'm there.

220hp/240tq sounds like a KA to me. 240hp/210tq sounds like an sr. What are you confused on Mars?

I don't have the dyno chart, never got it printed out. ?? Next time there is a dyno day I will get one. Hopefully I will be putting more power down. It's about a 70hp increase over stock.

BTW: Anyone know of a resolution for the engine stalling when dropping the throttle from like 2500rpm to idle? The deceleration function is not available on the S-AFC, it has *********. It does it all the time and sucks because now it's harder to shift lock. Although it has taught me one very good lesson, heel-toe. I can do it fairly well except its more like left side of foot-right side of foot because my feet are too big to turn. lol
