Do some research on the Tein Basics, first. They like to stick the spring rate way up there. That makes for a horrible ride on anything but smooth pavement. This is the main reason that people think that coilovers ride like ass. Example, Teins for S13: HA's = 6k/5k, Flex = 5k/4k, Basic = 6k/6k! Just for a control, the stock S13 springs are 2k/2k.

BTW, 1kg/mm = 56 lb/in

Happy researching!

springs aren't going to really improve performance IMO. If you aren't going full coilover, your basically doing a cosmetic mod.

The spec suspension isn't bad stock, I wouldn't really mess with it unless your really going to do it right. Coilovers can be harsh, but it go's with the territory.

what about custom wound eibach springs ? they would definitely be more than a cosmetic mod.

I dunno, I guess it would be decent as long as they designed it for the stock shocks/suspension.

I just think as a rule if you get springs you need shocks to go with them. Your the man, what do you think?

it depends how the springs are wound, what rate they end up being. if you are keeping stock struts, then normal eibachs from anywhere will be fine.

if you're doing more of like a race setup, then get custom wound springs depending on what you do. and then get konis valved specifically for that.

but that's lots of money, and people with lots of money don't go on tr to find mods, they just call eibach and koni directly

true

you really think stock shocks w/ aftermarket springs is going to improve performance?

for the B14 I know for fact springs only are a no no, you have to do the shocks like KYB AGX or go TIEN etc.. for gains.

B15 may be different Im still learnin.
