Default brake upgrade for s14

how much is it going to be to swap in the z32 front calipers and rotors? or even the Q45 junks.
who has a set for sale?

what can be done for the rear?
does the z32 or q45 fit there too?
thank you in advance.

the cost is all going to depend on how much you can find the brakes for... the rears will also fit, but from what i hear it's hard to get the e-brake to work with them unless your name is matt

there's a few more people out there that have working e brake now, miles.

also it depends on the chassis, i believe it's easier to make the e brake work with an s14 than it is an s13.

yeah, exactly what miles said though. it's completely dependant on what you buy the brakes and everything like that for. everything will bolt up though, you'll need some custom front brake lines, if you get lucky you won't have to but most do.

autozone sells calipers, $50 each side + ~$35 cores (give them back your stockies they dont know the difference).

you can get loaded ones too, which means you dont have to pay for the stupid hardware kit $35 at heavy throttle, more at the dealer. i dont know how much the loaded ones cost, but i'd almost recommend doing that and then just swapping the pads if you desire to run other than an oem replacement style.

autozone also sells rotors too $50 each side.

so for $200 (turning in your core calipers) you just have to tack on the price of lines, fluid, and new pads if you so desire. I'd most DEFINATELY recommend Speed Bleeders, best mod ever. $20 for all 4 corners.

also note, i had to stick with stock front rotors, because:
a) i have 26mm calipers, which were available on Z32 non turbo vehicles from 1989 to June of 1990 before they went to 30mm on all models. therefore, there isnt a high demand for powerslot, etc 26mm x 280mm rotors, and thus, they are highly priced.

b) i figured i'd save almost $100 and just get normal rotors, being that the Z32 front upgrade in itself is probably slight overkill for a street car, and I wasn't going to be needing the aftermarket rotors.

c) save my money now for when i upgrade to ZTuner caliper brackets in the future. Then, I'll go ahead and spend the money on some slotted 12.75" Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 rotors (which is what you have to use with that kit).

EDIT: this is pricing for fronts only.

ditto what dan says, and yes! get the speed bleeders with a long enough piece of hose, you can bleed the brakes by yourself.

yeah i'm just gonna get some ss lines, some better pads and maybe slotted rotors... save myself some money and not have to worry about master cylinder sizes/brake bias/whatever other BS is involved there

You may have to rethink the Ztuner 3000GT brake upgrade. I e-mailed them a while back and their reply was they are not making that bracket anymore.

I have been looking at the 13” Cobra rotors trying to figure out what it would take to use those.

as far as pricing,
I just made a deal on full access to the whole brake system on a z32. It was manufactured in 6/90, so it's got the smaller rotors.
$200 plus a used Greddy Type-s BOV I had lying around. So far all I've ripped off is the master cylinder.
BTW, does the master cylinder bolt right in place of the stocker on an s13?
