So i was researching for a LSD for my 240sx and came across the PHANTOM GRIP Limited Slip Differential conversion kits. It's around $250 and they dont tell you if its worth a damn or not. So is it worth it, or should i just go buy a used LSD? And how much do used lsd's go for???
(sorry for all of the questions, but i had to know!!!)

to answer your question, go with a real diff... you'll be much happier... i've heard nothing but bad things about phantom grip...

phantom slip. i drove a 240sx with one in it and it pulled a one wheeled peel alot. very unpredictable in what the lsd was doing. sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. POS.

 

I just dont want to put in a J30 diff cuz it'll really bog down my car and lord knows its slow enough as it is. Is there anyway to get a 240sx lsd from around here without sacrificing my first born?

 

Bog down? 6% difference means if you go 0-60 in 6 seconds flat, 6% slow is only 6.34 seconds.
On the bright side, you should gain some fuel economy.

i can re shim the J30 diff to work with your 4.08 gears for the right price.

i won't burn up your ring and pinion gears in the process either

 

Taka should be selling a 2 way mecahnical for about 550. you could always get his TOMEI for 750 !!!! MONEY
