I am looking at buying it from a guy next to where I work. Anything I should look for, like common problems with it? BTW it's a N/A 300Z 2+2.

 

Check the water pump is all I have to say. The waterpump is nicely tied into the timing components, behind tons of braces for random crap. It's a full days work if you know what you're doing, or $500 if you don't. Same goes with anything like timing components themselves. When/if something goes wrong, do yourself a favor and replace everything on the front of the motor at once. My gf's '84 with unknown mileage (odometer stopped working 2 years ago, at 186,963 miles. Well.. it's moved to 187,043 miles now, and I assume 1 mile on the odo per 750-1000 miles traveled).. anyway, the waterpump died. I refuse to work on it because it's cramped and dirty, and she paid $620 to replace water pump and timing stuff. Next up, the cylinder temp sensor goes whack, and it's a $30 part that should have been replaced with the water pump. So cold starts > 300zx now.
Anyway, gf's car with 200k+++ is running, so that's a plus.
Apparently the rear fender gets rust, according to a couple people I have talked to. Nothing like my gf's car though..
That's all I know.

Looks for rust in the corners of the rear hatch area, by where the tool kit should go especially

Thanks alot guys. Largo that site was very informative. I found no rust, the T-tops don't leak(even at 85 mph) in the rain. Seems to run very well for a 90k car. Never has been in the shop for anything major, just replaced the water pump(first owner thought it was bad when it was really the radiator) and a radiator. I am hopefully goign to be driving it Friday and then it's time to start playing with it!
