Default ka24de head on ka24e

I know ppl have done this but has anybody on here done this ? and how difficult is it ?

this would make turboing the ka Alot easier then the sohc which is why im curious as to the mechanics of it. thanks.

i think it would make more sense to put in the entire dohc
motor in seeing how cheap they are....
i've never heard of a frankenstein KA ....
any thing can happen ,
turbo's aren't cheap .......so don't cut corners ...you'll be happy
in the end ...there are some nice Ka-t's running around
but no sohc 's (i've seen )... must be a reason

Yes, just throw that sohc away get the dohc, I have seen some nice numbers on ka24de-t's. Check out nissanfourums and hit the 240 section.

if you put the de head on the e block then you will get a high compression combination. not what you would want for a turbo. it would basically be the same as putting the sohc pistons in the dohc. it would give it something like 10:1 to 11:5 compression.

not that much. you havent seen the difference between the dohc pistons and the sohc pistons. the dohc cam pistons have a bowl thats almost 1 cm deep and the sohc is basically flat all the way acress.

High compression KA's are fun though man! The reason you don't see any good turbo once cams around here is because:
1. people don't think that any hp can be made off of one cam (common misconseption- remember the fastest honda in the world is a once cam [last time i checked...don't care too much about them though])
and B. Mine is incomplete and since i'm about to go to UTI and get a "real" job, I doubt I'll have time to until next summer. But there will be a rediculously high horsepowered sohc one day in the somewhat-near future. Don't throw those engines away...they're badass torque-loving earth-rumbling biatches. Ka24et's don't get very much respect...yet.

The Dual head on the once block...its just so much work that doesn't make sense...Too much fabrication, not enough profit, and no reason for it if you're planning on adding boost. Either KA is a great platform for a potential killer on the streets.
RIP RICK JAMES (bitch)

i guess ill stick to the sohc then . its what i orgionally planned on but thought maybe since there are bolt on turbo kits for the dohc that it would be simpler.

im not going ca18 or sr20 . why downsize your engine ?? especially when these Ka's are free, i have three now in my posession so i have plenty of room for error
