Im in the middle of putting my turbo on my car and when I unbolted the exhaust mani there is a copper tube that is threaded into the back. My guess is that it is some kind of EGR emission thinga ma bobber. Question is can I do away w/ this thing or quit being lazy and drill and tap a hole for it go into my new turbo exhaust system??? According to the manual (if it is in fact an EGR component) it only works when cruising, not when idling or WOT.

 

It's the EGR. Mine's gone. But that doesn't say much. If you remove it, you'll get a code.

any noticed gas mileage decreases or any finicky running? Last thing I want is to make this turbo project a life long project trying to keep the car on the road.
