Default help sr20det blacktop

first if will start out with this:

91 240 hatch:

sr20det blacktop
Greddy fmic
greddy oil filter relocation kit
walbro 255 fuel pump
spec stage 2 cluth with lightweight flywheel
greddy 3in dp to 3in exhaust
apexi avcr boost controller (not adjust just hooked it up and left it stock)

the problem i m having is that when i m at WOT it makes a poping noise like it is burning extra gas or something and one time it was idling and white smoke starting coming out of the exhaust.... wel just tonight i was at a friend and i gave a guy a ride in the car cause he wanted to feel the power of the sr ( not that it is something special or nothing) well i did that then they wanted me to do a little burnout so i spun the tires just a little and it was fine thne when i parked i let it run for a while and then it started blow white smoke..... so i gave it a little gas it kept blowing... i gave it a couple pushes on the gas pedal and it went away.....

i m not a tech or nothing this is why i built this car is to learn.. i believe that it is my o2 sensor ... i have the timing at 15 and i also have to set my TPS sensor cause i havent had a chance to get a voltmeter and do that .... so saying all of this does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

i live in florida, and i bought the engine used so pretty much everything is orginal except i replace the intake, exhaust, turbo and the throttle body gaskets......

aight well after that happend this past weekend i was worried about the engine so i figured i would make sure to set my timing and set the tps... now correct me if im wrong the way to set timing is to take the first coil out connect a good plug wire into the coil and then to the spark plug, disconnect the tps, then hook up the timing light start the car and then set the timing to 15 deg. well this is what i did.. is the correct?

then i know that i needed to set the tps so i read in a forum how to do it so i followed that here is the link

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.net/f...&threadid=72104

well it runs like **** i cant give it any gas it is poping like crazy.. running way to rich so now i m puzzled cause i dont want to hurt the engine in anyway... so is there someone who can help me please?

Mine did that with a combination of a shot turbo and partially severed o2 wires. Check for shaft play on teh turbo and obviously check the 02 wires. I run my car at a spiked max of 17psi and it is all good now on the stock rebuilt turbo.

Others here might be able to elaborate more, I just speak of what was fucked up on mine.

If your going to check your timing without using a timing light, you can check it using Phase2's/FSM method. Make sure you line up the cams as well as the crank or you'll be way off. While your at it, check your spark plugs as well.

what spark plugws are you running? that may contribute to the popping.

also...the smoke is your turbo. it needs a rebuild. the oil seal on teh exahsut side of teh shaf tis leaking oil into the turbiune housing.

I second the smoke = dead turbo seals. It happened on my brother's car. I think the smoke is more noticable at idle because of the low volume of air coming from the tailpipe.

Also, make sure that you hooked up power to the O2 sensor. The brown wire in the "battery area" needs switched power. That would cause the O2 to read wrong and mess up your A/F. I mention that because the Heavy throttle wiring guide kind of skims over that conenction.

When my brother's turbo was bad, it would only smoke at idle when it was warmed up. His was bad enough that we were getting oil leaking out of the lower downpipe gasket.
