temp allways at zero

gauge worked fine last night....came out this morning bled the system and now its stuck back at zero

you probably have a short in the wire somewhere.

thats gotta be it...do you know which sensor actually operates the gauge is it the two wire coolant temp sensor, or the one wire temp sensor next to it...they both have coolant running past them they are about an inch apart...

I believe its the one wire that clips onto the temp sensor. Maybe its just corroded or loose.

its soldered and heat shrunk....the clip looked fine but that was the first thing I did...if it NEVER worked I would have allready gave up on it but its just wierd that the night I put the new thermostat in it read fine all night then the next morning it was'nt....maybe the new thermostat I put in got stuck open again It was a stant one from advance auto....I called and talked to the service advisor at lokey nissan and he said the thermostat making it read was a coincedence.

Get the FSM,

test for continuity between pin of of brown/white gauge cluster plug and pin of sensor

if that is still no fixing it


replace coolant temp gauge with known good gauge from another cluster

The coolant wire is blue/black at the plug that Ostrich mentioned.
