Synth oil VS Dino Oil...
OK, well I know this isn't really a Nissan specific question, but what are the advantages of synth oil, and are you able to you that oil in any engine? or is it better for some types of engines or not...thanks JAKE

Synth is thinner oil at the same weight of dino oil. This means that if you have slight leaks, they will become huge leaks. If you have unnoticeable flaws in the gaskets, those too can leak. If you do switch, 2 things. 1) Don't switch back and 2) be vigilant for leaks.
As far as protection, it's hands down the best.

You can add synthetic and regular oil together without any problems WHATSOEVER. 30 years ago, there were problems with mixing them, but not anymore.
It's not thinner either. You use 10w-30 for 10w-30, not a higher weight oil. Just use whatever weight you would use normally.
Yes, in an older engine, there might be deposits, blocking up potential leaks. So putting a oil with more detergents in it will clean up those deposits, and reveal leaks. But those leaks were already in your engine, but clogged with grime. Do you think that's a good thing?
Synthetic can last longer also, but remember to change the filter, or use a high mileage filter.

Yea. Piss in the gas, and add bleach to the motor oil. Who cares, one guy says it works.
As a general rule, you don't want to switch between synth and dino because of wear scars. In general, synthetic is a thinner oil of comparable weight, because it's synthetic, and engineered to ACT LIKE a 10w30, not be 10w30.

Could you care to explain synthetic blends for me then?
In my opinion, you have it backwards. Synthetic IS 10w30. No additives to make it act like a 10w30. Dino 10w30 needs additives to make it ACT like 10w30.
Synthetic has uniform molecules, which makes it less volatile. Less volatile oils resist burning off, which means less sludge. Plus since synthetics ARE 10w30, and don't have the THICKENERS that dino oils have, they are able to put more detergent additives in, which is why they clean out the engine deposits, sometimes causing leaks to show.
As I said. 30 years ago, they got the formulation down correctly to allow dino and synthetic to mix. Before that, they were incompatible.
