At the risk of highjacking the thread even more (my apologies to crazy9ceguy) I decided to start this thread.

I've never tried going to the dealership but this 10 year old car should have a recall on the tank. Believe me other 95-98's will eventually have this same problem. The tank is made out of fiberglass to my knowledge.

You see where you fill the gas tank? Look underneath there. Underneath you will see the strap that hold up the gas tank. You will also see the culprit bolt that holds up the strap. That bolt will rub through the gas tank or pressure will eventually creat a crack in the tank.

I gave up on trying to fix it because I don’t know anything else that will work. Maybe Epoxy but it’s so hard to leave it 24 hours to fully cure.

Here's a copy of the reply I made in that topic:

A leaky gas tank is a huge safety problem! I encourage anyone who has a leaking gas tank to file a complaint at the NHTSA.

According to the NHTSA website, if a safety defect exists in a motor vehicle, the manufacturer must fix it at no cost to the owner.

If you are having this problem, please submit a complaint in order to get a recall investigation started! I've put the link to the website below

soooo when do i get a free new tank??? mines leaking at the seal, so i jsut dont fill it up all the way, but still gimmie gimmie gimmie..
