yes. it will make ur car xplode... if u do it wrong that is. u have to get all of the parts for the transmission, clutch pedal. clutch slave, all the lines, and probably an ecu for a 5spd. there are more parts that u need im sure, check out www.240sx.org and www.freshalloy.com both are real good sources. you may even want to chech out the search function and check if anything was said about this in previous instances here on TR, probably has.

If you do it correctly there will be no problems. Don't take shortcuts. Ask Epstein about it.

yeah UP TO$800. i spent about $300 for everything including motor and tranny. the auto ecu works just fine. do a search. thi is asked all the time.

if you have the right tools it will only take a few hours.

ps dont forget a tranny flush with the new tranny.

In a 96 with an OBDII ECU, I"m pretty sure you have to have the 5sp ECU. I did it on a 93, so it was very straight forward. Bolt everything together, then wire the starter interlock and the reverse lights. If you're dealing with an S14, I'd recommend you ask Jeff240sx. He has a "how to" on his website.
