My idle bounce's everywhere when i come to a stop and once i get to 5000rmp my car seems to not have as much pick up, but my rmp climb. Ive heard that the fuel fitler might need to be relplaced and/or injectors. Other then that I have no idea little help plz. Its a 1991 fast back. 141,XXX miles on it with new plugs & wires exhaust and intake.

 

I had a problem like that. I change my cap and rotor to the spark plugs and new sparkplugs and fix my timming.

 

when you say bounce everywhere what exactly do you mean by that...? do you mean when you are coming to a stop your idle drops to like 200 then back up to 800?? either way play with the idle air control valve on the intake manifold... check spark plugs, wires, and timing...

 

i had the timming done and new plugs and wires. yes 200 to 800 and also staling too. still no luck

 

check for vaccum leaks... and also play with the idle air control once again...

 

i will what about injectors and fuel pump?

 

are your plugs in the right order....or is one loose? that happened to me when i change my plugs....how about your cap and rotor...also the air filter could be bad

 

open your valve cover (just the oil filler cap) and see if the oil is milky...those are some symptoms of headgasket failure. when my headgaskets went, thats what happened.

 

how clean/unclean is your air filter? i know it wont make the idle bounce from 200 rpm to 800rpm, but it may be something that you might want to check out while you are changing out ur ish. my 98 ka 240 idle bounced around a bit cuz of a dirty filter but not as bad as your case.
