Default Detonation, Smoke, Oil from BOV on SR?

Went to a local slide event yesterday with my new coupe running blacktop SR, stock SMIC, DP, Walbro, and Exhaust. 10psi through a manual boost controller. All day I had zero problems and I guess that one my last run someone came up and told me there was a pretty good amount of smoke at the end, I also remember noticing a loss of power on that run.
When popping the hood, I noticed that there was oil that had shot out of the BOV into my engine compartment. I removed the factory catch can thingy when swapping. Anyway, on the way home shortly after that the car was smoking pretty heavily. Whats weird is that it was black and white. And I could hear detonation. The white lasted for awhile but then slowly started to go away and now only puff's it. I am assuming that the black is because the ecu is detecting knock and dumping in fuel right? Could the oil have gone through the IC, and its causing it to heat soak easily, therefore causing detonation? I am using a Silvia non-turbo bumper so there is no hole for the IC. But the car was fine the night before and the 150 mile trip to the event. I have run no catchcan before and never had the oil out of the BOV problem, do you think maybe a seal went bad in the turbo? Any help is appreciated. There is also oil dripping slightly from around the plugged recirc valve.

on the way home you were getting clouds of smoke out your exhaust. the oil out of your BOV im 90% sure is your turbo going and just leaking oil all in your hotpipe. knocking could be the heat soaked IC. hoaf ran a 20g,stock injectors, stock SMIC, and q's bumper and i dont think he ever had any knock problems.

i heard your car detontating on your first run yesterday. and when i found out you had no hole for your intercooler i understood why. i'm pretty shure i heard detonation everytime you went out.

it sounds like you may need a new turbo brotha.

like to see you get some air to that IC too

if you got white smoke i would have to say check your head gasket. taylor drove back from miami with a bad computer in his car that caused him to knock and he ended up blowing his head gasket. we had an RB25 in a s14 that blew oil out the BOV and it was a head gasket too. i hope thats not it but that would be my guess.

removed the factory catch can?

stock sidemount with no hole made?

detonation but u still kept in it?

im thinking that you prolly have done 2 things:

1. blown your headgasket
2. the oil is from your lack of catchcan, got dumped back into the intake piping, and then got sprayed through the turbo and out the BOV on shifts.

well, hope whatever damage isnt too bad. btw wtf stock sidemount?

Never have had a catch can on any SR I have owned. Not sure exactly why but thats just the way they have been.

No hole because I was going FMIC soon and not going to cut into my bumper. Plus, back in 97 when I had my first SR, I ran no IC at all and 9psi with no problems.

Detonation on the drive home. I would get into it and then listen for it, if I heard it, I would back out immediately. I never heard it throughout the day. It would have been nice if anyone who heard it would have said something. It's kind of difficult to hear when you have your head in a helmet.

As for the stock SMIC, I just didn't have any time to put this car together, I barely made the deadline as it was. And I have known plenty of other people running that setup with zero problems.

As for checking the headgasket... I would need to do a leakdown test correct? Would a compression check be in order as well?

you can get a radiator sniffer that can test the headgasket

then if that checks out ok then do a compression test. after that I wouldnt see much of a need to go further.

as far as the catchcan/valvercover T/filter recirc is concerned wait for matt or taylor to respond with the correct knowledge on that...i dont want to mislead you.

Compression test results are as follows:
Cold motor, been sitting all night. 135, 125, 98, 140
There were signs of oil on #3 and a little on #4

Oh well, I had plenty of fun doing it! Big thanks to HachiBill for hearing detonation on the very first run and not saying anything all day long! Assh*le!!!!!!!
