Default Court date from racing

Well guys, I have a court date after tonights aftermath on June 10 @ 8:30am. Officer pulled me over after I was fucking around with another car around 10:30pm. Cops saw us racing down Tyrone and went after us......I knew I saw lights and should of pulled over and got away but didn't go with my instincts! The other kid got away of course and the cops flew behind me and then pulled me over. He walks up and asked me if I was racing and who???? I answered and he then takes my license with the other officer and walks away. Before leaving he says your lucky that your not going to jail! I was like whatever...... So he leaves and then comes back and tells me that I have a court hearing next month blah blah with a written ticket. No ticket cost or anything.......after that he says I should of gotten a exhaust ticket but luckly did not. I dunno. A little freaked out but figuring I get everones input on this situation but I don't need to hear the "don't race on the street," fuckers..... Help would be greatly appreciated and no sarcasim bitches! Lawyer maybe?? I dunno.
See if the nissan community would have any help since most people don't go in the free4all forum!

SOrry to hear that bro.......

i suggest a lawyer for sure.........its definately worth it.......

but if not for whatever reason.......i suggest you plead no contest to be safe and state your story as he cut you off and you were trying to only get his plate to report him........NOT racing or road raging......

+1 damn that is good.
all you need to do is to convince the judge that you were not racing right? in that case just say that you were in a hurry and speeding if anything and it just so happened that there was another car that was going fast besides you. im sure that you would end up with a ticket one way or another but better to recieve a speeding ticket rather than getting cited for road racing.
im sure that insurance will kill you more if you were road racing rather than breaking the speed limit. by the way, did the cop get you for speeding at all? did he gun you? if not, you were going about 55-60moh in a 45mph (hypothetically speaking). id see if you could plead out to speeding, so you dont have to deal with that other crap for racing.

Just remember that the burden of proof is on YOU, since it's a civil case. Also, if the police man isn't there, plead "no contest", and you're free to go. By the way, insurance will hate you (and you'll know it $$$) if you're found guilty.

this is a criminal case so the state has to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that you were street racing. civil matters are between two individuals or two legal entities. criminal matters are cases where the state attempts to prosecute an individual.

That's what's wrong w/ this country man, no fear of the consequences of acting stupid. Then crying about it afterwards.
Kinda like all those hit and runs lately. Where are people's honor?

How much freedom is too much? At least you got to freely incriminate yourself by admitting you were indeed racing.

I'm just speaking into your life man, takes heart to break things down like that.

This thread will be shut down for sure...

Jesse

PS - Chances are the cop won't show up to the court date unless you left a bad impression and ticked him off.

Drew,

GET A LAWYER! Street racing tickets are SERIOUS! do not go in alone. do not try to plead no contest. The cop WILL show up to your court date since it is a racing offfence adn the cops are cracking down on this. You have to face the consequences of your actions now....but that doesnt mean you have to bend over and let the system give it too you. the people who will be trying to prosecute you are PROFESSIONALS...dont get out matched get a professional to represent you.
