Default CA18DET--- Good Motor?

I'm probably going to be trading my Mustang for a CA18DET swapped S13 hatch. The motor was rebuilt with some goodies, and I believe the turbo is aftermarket. I'm awaiting specs on it as we speak.
If anyone can share any and all info they know on the CA, and if it's easy to mod, power gains and stuff like that, feel free to post.
Thanks

it's a pretty good motor.

the motor itself is very stout, however it's plagued by bad wiring, weak ecu's and faulty coilpacks and ignitors.

Thanks Matt. Appreciate it. Also, here is the list of mods:

bulit ca19 block with greddy pistons, polished rods, crank freshly turned,
fully rebuilt head, all new seals
new headgasket.
s14 t28 ballbearing
apexi safc
farina racing ecu,
hybrid intercooler, bar and plate
6 puck
auto meter gauges: boost, water temp, oil press.
j30 vlsd (rearend)
b&m Short shifter
ssautochrome o2 extension
ssautochrome 3" downpipe
rsr exhuast

I will also get new KYB's all around, and ground control coilovers. Also a manual boost controller will be included. These items are on there way to the owner now.

How do those mods sound? Anyone have any HP numbers they can estimate from those?

Tuned ? maybe 300RWHP if he has injectors , fuel pump etc ..

That turbo wont get you too much farther outta the low 300's ona piggyback setup

Wheres this at? Motor specs sound familiar.

Well, my car HAD a CA18DET. I had a problem with the oil pump and lost the bottom end. But as long as yours was rebuilt the way they said it is, your good to go.

The motor has crap for low end power but makes up for it in the higher rpms.

With that setup, expect ~300hp.

The motor needs a T3T4 and stand alone setup to shine.

Any questions, hit me up on AIM: Nismo1182

The CA can rev out with the proper head setup.. as in 9k rpms consistantly. Thats where it will make more power, provided the engine can still breathe. Other than that, look at where sr owners hit on stock s14 turbo (300hp pushing it) and dock some off for displacement.

Is there anywhere in the Orlando area where I can get a good tune?
I know about Z Fever and Secret Services, but Tampa is a good 3 hour drive for me. Also, how much would a good tune cost?
I'm going to be pretty new to the turbo game.
