Default A/c works when it wants to?

Another one of those things that "mysteriously" went wrong AFTER i bought the car...kinda like the bent frame underneath, ever seal leaking, PS line etc... after i asked and was told there was no leaks, the car had been checked out underneath all was perfect, frame was straight etc...

buuuuuuuuuuuuuut anyway who's counting...

My A/C decides to work when it wants to. It's like the compressor doesn;t know when to turn on/off. There is freon in there and the compressor does have the right amount of pressure or whatever. Any ideas?

Check your AC relay. My brother just finished burning his up because the AC wire frayed and grounded to the compressor.

Your more than likely low on freon/refrigerant. When your low on the cold stuff, your compressor will surge on and off by itself...or the clutch will kick on and off. Just tap a quick discount guage to it, and check the level of refrigertant(sp?). If not that, then could be the relay, clutch is going bad, or a leak....I'd bet its low on the refrig.
