My friend just bought an 89 240sx it runs idles fine but wont rev past 4K we replaced the Fuel filter,MAF,spark plugs, valve cover gasket,spark plug wires, distributor cap and added 4qts of oil now heres the problem it still wont rev past 4k after all parts were replaced any ideas thanks
Did yah check the codes on the ECU?

i dont think they have the power to check the codes on the ecu.
its not a tuned vehicle, so i think that is unlikely. did you check for leaks and make sure the MAF is right,
ALSO did u check ur O2 sensor? clean off throttle body? is the cable long enough?

This is funny, but only because my car was doing the same thing a couple weeks ago and we just got it fixed. My speed sensor wasn't hooked up right, so my car thought it was in neutral. Just an idea, but maybe you should check that.

thanks where exactly is the speed sensor at.....and also i noticed it wanting to die the distributor rotor is bad on it could that be one of the problems
