Imagine a KA24DET revving to 6k RPM and it does not budge the tiniest bit...

I filled brand new NISMO mounts w/ poly but it was definitely the wrong thing to do. Sure, the engine is rock solid but the rest of the car vibrates like helk.

If anyone is thinking of doing this in the future, catch me this week to get a ride and test it out.

I'll be at Secret Services and I might go to Bradenton before I change them out this week.

Don't think I'll last until Thursday night w/ these mounts. My brother is going / his Spec-V to the track that night but these mounts are killing me.

I tapped/hellicoiled the block after messing up the threading for the themostat water neck, no more coolant leak.

The car rattles like a mofo, going to drive around some more. Don't really think I can grow to like it...

 

when are you going to be at ss. i would like to ride shotty and see what its like. when my car ran with the exhaust cams the whol car shook at a 1k idle. id hate to imagine what it would be like with solid mounts.

 

ive ridden in plenty of cars with 248* cams on both sides, and the idle is like stock, not sure where your rumbling is coming from?

 

Buck, I changed out the mounts this morning. I couldn't stand them. The poly chipped away fairly easily w/ my wifes stone carving chisels... The car feels close to stock but the engine doesn't rock as hard. I can definitely say the poly helped eliminate engine movement over plain NISMO mounts though.

Paul at the shop has that full drag car and it feels nice on solid mounts. His engine is fully blueprinted/balanced though. One day

Weakkkkk... real men use solid steel for their engine mounts. You're complaining about a bit of vibration from poly-filled NISMO mounts... j/k
