Bad U-joints?

I think the u-joints in my car have gone bad
. It seems when I tap the accelerator I feel a thump and vibration under the center console and it only does it when I accelerate. I've checked my fluid level today, they seem fine, no burnt smell, no leaks. I've also consulted my Chilton's, yea I know I need to get a Nissan FSM, but the section on the u joints says that they are not repairable only replaceable. I was wondering do I need to get another drive shaft or halfshaft? I know I need to take it to a shop so that I can get a correct diagnosis but am curious of the possible things that could be wrong. I'm considering getting a 5-spd tranny if I can get a good price if not I need to find a decent automatic depending on which will be cheaper at the moment. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
BTW, I recently change my differential and tranny fluid a couple of months ago, thought I throw that in.

check the tranny mount and/or engine mounts. it could be rocking so hard that its hitting something when the engine torques.
is it constant or just when you get into acceleration? if its not constant i dont think its the u-joints...if the driveshaft was out of balance (a neighbor had this once) it would be all the time.

Only when I accelerate , lately it has been happening every time I accelerate thens dies off, I did a search on 240SX.org and someone said that the tranny mounts were worn and they replaced with Nismo mounts. Now if they are actually the mounts will the Nismo fit an auto tranny? It's more noticeable when I accelerate hard from a stand still or when cruising and opened up at open throttle.

MY car did that a few times to me and it was the carrier bearing on the d/s. When the rubber goes bad on those the d/s just smacks around inside the metal bracket and messes shit up. I went to a one piece to eliminate the whole carrier bearing and save weight , but I don't know if your car has 2pc. drive shaft or not.
