Default ka24de thottle linkage

A friend of mine recently got a dohc swap in his s13 and was having acceleration problems. Tonight we looked at the throttle body and only one of the two cables were connected, the other was just hanging. The one connected was to the pedal that runs across the top of the motor . The other is to that black bulb shaped unit on the passenger side of the engone bay and is not hooked up. Which cable runs to what slot on the throttle body pulley??? We tried criss crossing the cables and it was stuck at partial open throttle. What should be done to correct this problem i need advice ASAP tonight ! Thanks

The big plastic bulb is the cruise control. If the gas pedal is attached to a TB pulley (my s14 has 2 pullies, dunno about s13) and it's stuck at part open throttle, loosen the throttle cable, or turn the idle adjustment screw.

so hook the throttle cable to the pulley that the cruise control should be hooked to, is that what you are saying chin180sx?

no, i believe matt is sayin if you want quicker throttle response, put the cruise control cable in the throttle cable pulley.

single cam cruis cable will not work with twin cam throttle body cruise wheel

single cam throttle cable will not work with twin cam throttle wheel

single cam throttle cable works with twin cam cruise wheel

hooking the single cam cruise cable to the twin cam throttle wheel spells disaster

it was probably set that way for a reason.

throttle response prob has nothing to do with cable

so in conclusion:

twin cam swap into single cam car = single cam throttle cable in twin cam cruise cable slot

do not use single cam cruise cable anymore.

it is too short. it will hold wheel open

put it back how it is. call shop that did swap. have them check out throttle problem.
