FMIC question
Hey guys,
I am in the works of puuting together my turbo kit for my KA. Question is: What are the minimum recommended deminsions for an FMIC for my car. Right now I don't believe I will need one as I will only be pushing 6-7 psi, but later down the road it will definatly be upped as a new motor will be put in. Since I have to fabricate the piping I figured might as well get the intercooler and make the piping once than have to do it twice. Should I be looking at cores over 2" thick or is 2" enough and what about length and height? Does the actual height, depth, and length play a significant role or should I be focused mainly on overall cubic inches. Can you overkill on an intercooler with one that is too large? Please help?
Thanks,
Tyler

get the 30"x6"x2", it should do perfectly well for your application and for $240 or so its a steal. i was going this route because this core was cheap and i could have an fmic setup for under $400, but since i have a spare block that is being prepped for forged internals, i have decided to go with something that will hold in the 400hp range.

good luck with it and i hope u can take some good personal pics of it (ive seen plenty on their site) and if you end up having a decent time with piping, i'd like to help or it might convince me to go back to that. im still debating since i have other stuff to buy first.

A billion. lol. I forget what i figured that turbo will get me to but no more than 220hp for the time being. After a new motor I would like to get 300hp but don't remember if that turbo will get me there.
