matt chin, u can get marine style battery boxes at walmart for like $6. im actually selling mine since i decided to eventually go with a slim style one up front to clear future ic pipe routes. i'll give it to you for free if u want. it has some small screw holes in it but it will bolt down if u want it. has a lid and strap.
i had the marine box for my prelude and it broke off when i was ass draggin. i got the aluminum one with battery cables for about $80, but i got a discount on that.
my battery box is welded to the floor and is as solid as a rock.
dan i see you have KA parts for sale. do you have a block for sale.

nissan has no problem with those things coming off. they dont use locktite. you must have missed that one. mistakes happen, but bolts dont come loose from 130 ft-lbs. sorry it just doesnt happen. especially very hard bolts like the ones used to secure cam sprockets to cams. the higher quality the bolt the more pre-load is applied for a given TQ value, and the lower the chance of failure. hey man mistakes happen, dont get discouraged. you'll learn to be more methodical next time. nothign wrong with double checking every TQ spec on a motor. i say go by nissan spec, no loctite. but just be SURE to actually TQ it to that next time.
I did a similar thing on a customers SR when i was doing a Headgasket swap. i fired it up and there was an unusual clacking noise from the valvetrain. i shut it down immediately and pulled the valve cover. luckily i caught it in time the bolts were barely loose and the gears were just wobbling. tightened down...sent him on his way.
experience is what you get when you dont get what you want. adn the experiece is what lets a good mechanic catch a problem before it's too late. that means building it right the first time, and being able to diagnose it quickly when there is a problem. good luck, and learn form your mistakes.
