Default G20 auto to 5spd....

looing to pick up a g20 (93-95) as a daily driver. Most that I have seen are automatic and that won't cut it. I'm figuring I could take all the parts off of 5spd g20's or sentra's at the boneyard along with an se-r tranny. My question is do any of the chassis mount brackets need to be rewelded in a different postion like you have to do with some Honda 5spd conversions, or will everything just bolt up.

i would say with as hard as it is to find se-r transmission parts and such, youd be way better off starting with a 5 speed.

I'll keep that in mind but I'm more concerned about wether the mount brackets need to be moved on the chassis.

I am not 100% positive but I believe everything should be the same. try searching www.g20.net or www.sr20forum.com

This forum doesn't really give the fwd nissans their fair share of credit.

the car has 119K on it, bought from a girl who forgot to add oil.
so i'm guessing the tranny has that many miles on it.

I was involved in a B14 SR project a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure that you'll need a G20 specific tranny/mount. A friend swapped a G20 setup into his B13, and I'm sure he mentioned cutting the tranny mount.

I could be wrong, but this is just a heads up!

you are right, you will need g20 axels, the tranny and pedals are probally the only thing you can use off this car,
