300zx Adjustable Suspension
On the 1988 300zx, is there any way to tell if the electronic adjustable suspension can be rebuilt without removing stuff? I read on z31.com that there may be a rebuild kit and I was wondering if there is any way to tell without removing anything. Or am I just SoL till I take the struts off?

the stock shocks are EXPENSIVE AS HELL to replace. call nissan, they are a couple hundred$$ a piece. get tokicos adjustables or bilstiens. they drop right in. best bet if they are really wasted.

The owner whom I purchased my car from had them replaced from the dealer. Don't remember exact price. Know it was up there. Still nice to have that feature still usable ... I can understand why someone would still want to have it. Just a part of the car.

well, I remember reading about a rebuild kit, it was cheap. but yeah, the struts themselves are like $800 from nissan.... each :o
I'd like to keep it usable and stock. i'm anal retentive like that, but if I can't rebuild them i'm gunna get aftermarket ones

Just got it recently actually. I'm in the process of cleaning it up (needs a bath) and getting used to it before I make a fool of myself at a meet

Awesome hope to see it out and meet you. . 8 z31's is the most I ever seen here in Tampa that actually go to the meets. Never all 8 at once but Mainly 2-3 every week. Best site for information -- check out www.z31.com

Yup, where I learned there may be a rebuild kit, but I guess i'll have to jack it up and get the tires off to check if they can be rebuilt, I wish I knew more about it so I could tell. I know nothing about the adj suspension
