okay i feel like a retard cause i couldnt find this and i know its been said. I just installed my SAFCII since my friend needed my stock SR20det 370's and i had 550's waiting to get put it. i set my fuel to -33% all across the board. but i didnt know what to set my MAF to i set my hotwire 5 in and 5 out but it idles a bit rough so i changed it up to 6 and 6 and it was still a little rough.. if anyone can help me that would be great.

thanks
Josh

agreed. but that is only a baseline. you are going to need to dyno tune that thing to get everything right. the S-AFC does not know the actual response curve of the MAFS, it only multiplies by a set percentage based on maximum airflow of the sensor. this is a common misconception for most people. they hthink that the S-AFC is will exactly compensate for a different MAF...it will not, it simply applies a percentage change to the reading of incomeing voltage from the MAF. for Z32 Maf on S13 SR it multiplies the incoming voltage by roughly 2.05... yet the 2 MAFS have different response curves so things dont work out exactly correct.

Launch can attest to that. we installed a Z32 MAF on his car and we had to do alot of tuning...even on stock injectors, to get the AFR's where they needed to be.

well the car ran fine like the first 10 miles i drove it. it idled fine didnt backfire. but once i started it up again like 3 hours after those 10 miles it went to shit. i dont think its cause im running super rich. cause i turned my safc to run leaner and it didnt help the idle 1 bit. also once i took out the spark plugs the 1 and 2 look find but 3 and 4 are black.

any ideas? i only threw on the 550's cause my friend needed the 370's for his car to run

well found out the problem them silly little lower orings broke. good thing i have 4 extra's

Definitely need to put that thing on the dyno. Big bonus here not only in getting things straightened out so you don't blow the thing up but also your gonna see some HP gains aswell.

All I have to say then is drive that thing easy until you get it on the dyno. I put mine on made a change (upgrade) and then went to the dyno to tune the upgrade. I didn't mind paying to dyno twice for the peace of mind in knowing that everything was safe. Much better to pay a little more now than to pay bigtime later. Besides with all of the cars that seceret service has tuned and the fact that Scott did mine both times I have no problem vouching for the advice given to you by Scott.
