I own a 1998 200sx SE-R. This model has limited slip and was wondering if any SR20DET will fit. I need a new engine so i'm going to go with turbo if possible. I would like to get the GTIR over the bluebird. Anyone recommend any good places to source the engine? How much is too much? How hard to is it to swap? Should I take is somewhere, how much if so?

 

i would do the bluebird over the gtir because there are more parts available.

there are plenty of shops in the area that can do the work, secret services and xat racing being two of them.

the swap isn't very difficult.

 

Would 3k get it done? And does the limited slip bare a factor?

 

I would save an extra grand and get better stuffs. You get what you pay for.

 

Well what kinda figures am I looking at? This is just what i have available. I just want my car running basically. Back and forth to work is all it needs to do, so I can get more money to upgrade then.

 

bluebird front clips can be had for around 2500 if i remmber correctly. then labor. i would shoot for the 3500 neighborhood all said and done (misc costs, etc)

Hate to break it to you but your 98 didn't come with an lsd. 97 was the last year for the factory installed lsd. You my friend have a 1 wheel wonder.
