My new ride...
Hey all, just bought a white '91 twin cam coupe from XAT. My question is this: The factory trunk mounted spoiler is peeling. I am wondering if I should remove it, sand, repaint, and reinstall it; or simply remove it and do the work to patch the holes in the trunk and finish off the paint. I like the clean look of the coupe without the spoiler, but feedback could help me decide one way or the other.
thanks, John

If you like the car with out the spoiler, go ahead and remove it. Personaly, I think the car needs something on the back to further delineate it from the Stanza rear end, but thats just my opinion...I could be wrong. Not sure on what the options are for the S-13 coupe as far as wings, but there should be a plethora of options.
Yeah, screw it. I'll just take it off. I like it better without, anyhow. I don't think it should be too hard to patch the holes. Certainly no more paint work than the entire spoiler would be!

Yeah, I've seen you there, too. I think I've seen you on 240SX.org, as well, or something like it. I've been Tampa for 17 years, though. Most people don't know me personally because I don't make meets as often as I would like to. SOMETHING always comes up... Oh well; that's just how I afford to own the number cars I do!!

Sure, I just took it off today. Got the holes patched, and the first layer of paint on the lid. Have a final wet sand an paint/clear to apply, but should be done in a day, or so.
About the spoiler, do you want it as is? The paint has peeled in a number of places, exposing the fiberglass. It is repairable, but if you want me to do it, it will cost you more. It's dirt-ass cheap, otherwise!
