gave it a few test runs, shifted at 8300 in first and around 8k 2nd and 3rd... maybe there is a rev limiter somewhere... but definitely not at 7500...

maybe he fried the chip. my friend had a acura vigor and he kept hitting the gov. speeding down gandy. after a while the gov. stoped kicking in. other than the gov. the engine as well as everything else works fine. he thinks that he just fried it. maybe that is what happened?

It's obvious. The seal was removed to unleash the true potential of the engine. Just replace the tachometer and he's good for 11,000.

Remember the broken rocker arms on my car from the track? Be careful. I'm assuming this car still has a stock valvetrain. Scott could be of more assistance on this subject and I'm still learning.

But will the stoppers prevent breakage is the question? or will they just keep everything in place after it breaks? Scott? I would be curious to learn.

rocker arm stoppers prevent the rocker arms form coming of the pivot on the lifter in the event that there is valve float and the cam looses contact wiht the rocker. when everything is normal, they are a captive assembly, menaing that they can not go anywhere...but once valves start floating you no longer have a captive assembly.
