Question Z32 Brake Upgrade

When I took the calipers apart, between each pad and the pistons there were these shims (2 metal pieces on each side). They were rusted pretty bad, I called around to see if I can get them replaced, but it seems that no where sells them. Can I leave these 4 pieces out of the caliper?

Thanks

In another words, I should not leave them out?

leaving them out usually results in squealing pads. I'd get some from Nissan.

OK, that's what I was looking for. From my understanding, they are there to reduce noise. Thanks guys.

check ebay, or even "just brakes", they re-did my brakes and i know that they have a warehouse full of brake parts. if not just brakes, try to call other brake shops?

IIRC, those are dust shields to spare the pistons. Use them if you can find them.
