what do u guys use, when doing a motor swap, to clean the years of nasty grease, oil, dirt, and shit stuck all in ur engine bay?

My buddy works at progress energy, and has some industrial strength degreaser stuff...should i use that?

 

i use simple green (not very strong for the thick stuff)
purple power (good degreaser, etches aluminum )
diesel fuel and a wire brush gets all that nasty build up off. Use it plenty o times. Then blow off with compressed air. The best IMO.

 

Simple Green - enviromentally friendly and it cleans excellent

 

Dollar General Degreaser... $2 works BETTER than Simple Green... dont know about it being environmentally save though... but hell is your sr???

Purple Cleaner at auto zone works wonders, also works good on a/c coils!

 

I just found out about this stuff called "gunk" it is an engine degreaser. I picked it up at napa and cleaned a chassis that had a bunch of grease. It is actually made for engines. But worked just as good.

best thing u can use it a pressure washer with degreaser. nothing works better than that.
