Question for you Nissan Guys...
IM thinking about buying a 1993 240SX Notch Back...
The price is 2900, but the seller may go down to 2500.
It has a 5spd, Bone stock, very clean, ice cold air, and everythign seems to work...
It has 118000 Miles on it
My question is, is this a good car for teh money? Are the miles to high? What problems can I expect at this mile level? Is it worth it, can i get some power out of it with light mods? What potential does it have.... I just need some general info! Im not to knowledgeble of nissans, so I could use some advice..

good car for the money yes...
miles are low.. it will last a lot longer with the stock motor...
Power with light mods... NO... ya need to swap or do some kind of forced induction to really get more than a slight ammount of HP.. (even taylor's monster twice cam motor really isnt a LOT of power over stock, but more than others usually get with more mods)
With a basic boltons swap for a few grand, you can expect high twelves (read 12.90 or so) if you can drive.... for aobut 6000-8000 dollars expect elevens and 350 or more to the wheels.
Im sure the others will chime in with more exact figures. but these are fairly close

With intake, exhaust, light flywheel, good tune up, and some suspension work...
What can I hold my own with???

I used to have a '93 coupe and it ran strong all the way up to 150,000, then sadly I totaled it. I kept it mostly stock, besides a few boltons. It was never the fatest car on the block, but it held it's own. This car sounds like a good buy, I would't spend more than $2500 though.
If you don't want it I'm sure there would be plenty of guys here that would be interested, including me...

intake, exhaust, flywheel/clutch, lsd, advanced timing, and you could see low 15s.
id add a header, springs/struts, replace worn bushings, maybe a short shifter and youd have a really nice daily driver. but not fast.

Damn I find that funny...
I mean I can pull just about every honda and integra around my area in my Stock MX-6... And that FWD and Auto...
I would have figured pulling honduhs and such would be a snap

i guess it is. maybe i never run into the slow ones? but i dont race enough to take chances.
low 15s is good for most stuff but theres pesky gs-rs and newest si (the 99-00 coupes) that with mods can range 14.7 to 15.3 if they know what theyre doing. nonetheless its a fun ass car.
