anyways, your 97 has the cat built into the exhaust manifold/header pipe. the 2nd cat that appears where a normal cat would be, between header and where the exhaust piping starts is a hollow unit. only certain early s14s got 2 cats. and any cat will work. just as long as you can plug your 2nd oxygen sensor in (not the manifold one, the one on the back of that pipe near the hollow cat).
